This project, completed in 2005, consisted of the renovation of a late 1800's farmhouse.  The client wanted an open floor plan, expanded square footage, and a large master bedroom suite.
We installed a geothermal heating and cooling system, with two wells located in the rear of the property, to provide a consistently comfortable interior environment at very low operating cost.  The low operating cost of the system would pay for its' construction cost within seven years, as this client has experienced a maximum heating or cooling expense of $115 per month in the most extreme of exterior temperatures, when compared to the large fluctuations in cost of a natural gas heating and electric cooling system.
Created an open floor plan, by adding a new concrete pier in the basement, a single steel column, and four paralam beams to outside foundation walls.
Designed, fabricated and installed custom cherry wood cabinets in the kitchen.
The following photos capture the original home prior to and during initial structural renovations.
There was nothing open about the original layout.  The rooms were tight, with very little storage space or room to move.
The renovation nearly doubled the original square footage, from a cramped 1,500 square feet, to nearly 3,000 square feet.
